Mumbai 'sBlood bath 11/26.

Old habits die hard.Media.columnists leadersetc are again in their old gameof accusing each other and trying scoring brownie points.Let us soak inour minds that invasion of Terror in Mumbai on 11/26 on some of the iconic/historical landmarks has assumed entirely paradigm shift. In some ways iteven surpasses Manahattan attack11th sept2001.Hardly 10-12 terrorists

could hold the Metropolis to ransome for 70 hours . Three things are evident-(1)extreme indoctrination(2) a sustained/rigorous traing and(3) a prior to the point information of targets..

Sheer audacity in these strikes is mind boggling. If this global blood spilling is notallowedto gowaste
The Govt of India must ensure that the following urgent measures are implemented without redtapism.
(1)All the state capitols must have outfists like N.S.G.at the earliest.
(2)The Law/order and investigative wings be separated immediately--N.P.Commision advice
(3)Mock battle exercises like simulated terror strikesmust be organised in asurprise manner by
these nsg outfists regularly.
(4) Political interference in day-today working of the Police must abate.
(5) Thevulnerable and important/vital installations in the country must be provided with
impregnable security cover.
(6) THE personnel policy in the Policeas wellas promotion must be based solrly on merit
and outstanding A.C.RS.

Election-Times

With general elections on in 4 states ,we are witnessing daily most funny incidents.Various leaders are smitten with pedagogic itch. The election manifestoes promise Heavan on earth.
What a low premium on our's intelligence.Hypocracy, double speak and lies galore greet you each
day on print and electronic media. However every thing said and done these elections are also an
occasion for crlebrating Democracy.our people have unerringly over the years made almost the
correct choice.Over centuries right from pre-independence days indians have displayed robust
commonsense and an instinctive preference for great leadres like Mahatma Gandhi,Mr Nehru
Mr Bose ,mr Patel.rajan babu etc. Immediately after we won our freedom it is noteworthy that
India had enlightened/honest political leaders backed by equally brilliant.farsightedand sincere
bureaucracy. It is a sad thought that after about 2 decades down-turn in our morality, conduct
and values crept in.But let us end it on apositive note. The low curve will again straighten up and eventually rise; Till then we must indulge in reverie.

patriotism

Japan was devastated when Hiroshima and Nagasaki went through Atom Bomb. One may opine
that Pearl- harbour invited this destruction However it is an incredible phemenon--almost
a miracle that this great country reincarted itself as an engine of wealth, technologyand a great
place to live in.How can we explain it away.To my mind the undying love of the Japanese for
their country has made it possible. No doubt, there have been odd cases of corruption and double- speak;Yet no other nation can compare with Japan as for as the fierce and passionate
caring and love one's Mother land is concerned. It may sound unbelievable that Japan perhaps
is onlynation where factories have been working on decades without any work loss and labour-force/executives have never taken even ona day's leave. In technological field they are no one.
Time is most precious commodity-Japanese have proved it to the hilt. The marshalling of
national resources in uninterepted productivity and always putting the Nation above
self are hall-marks of this nation.I wish all countries are inspired by this saga of singular success.

destiny/freewill

There are two ancient slokas which contradict each.one--Truely industrious people attain wealth
in this world;only cowards attribute it to destiny.---Second-----no one can change what the fate
has ordained.Omar Khayyam has penned acouplet as follows-
The moving finger writesand having writ moves on
Nor all thy piety and tears can lure to cancel half a line.
There are adherents galore of these twin theories--viz destiny and free will.In fact the followers
of free will passionately debunk Astrology because this discipline forecastes one's future without
giving credence to toil and hard work.THE destiny-wallas on the other hand ridicule the concept
of freewill. The truth lies in between the two.It would indeed be nagation of life itself if one foresakes duty and leaves everything to fate.Geeta-the profound teachings of Lord Krishna,
epitomises the value of KARMA.But it is equally true fate or destiny does play amajor role
in successor failure.
